Last night, my memory/multiply ill father-in-law fell at home. The ambulance arrival takes at least an hour here in this "yeah, the countryside is so nice" area. They examined him but didn't take him to the emergency room. Today the same thing happened again. He hit his head. Blood also flowed a bit. And again, the ambulance arrival took an hour or so (since it's not an A-class task). They examined him and called the doctor, who then announced that he wouldn't be taken to Nova (Jyväskylä, Central Finland) by ambulance, but instead they ordered a stretcher taxi.

Well, a perfectly ordinary taxi arrived, and as we, the taxi driver and I, helped my father-in-law, who was in a very frail state, by holding him under the arms while he leaned on the handles of his rollator, trying with his very last reserves of strength to get down the steps of his house and into the taxi, he had absolutely no strength left to move any of his limbs himself. The taxi driver pulled him under the armpits from the driver's side to the front seat, and I helped from the legs. Into that sitting position for the measly 125 kilometers to Nova. In sitting position, in really poor condition. That's a tough spot.

Weekend emergency queues are easily 4-5 hours even at Nova. My wife and daughter left to accompany him.

Think about it, seriously as adults, what the hell jam this country's health services have been driven into. Especially for the elderly, there's no longer any seam to get truly immediate service in our country. Money is poured by the billions into supporting other countries' wars. To the EU mafia, climate nonsense, development aid, and all kinds of other crap, but not to the healthcare of our own nation's elderly (and soon not for anyone else's either). F*ck this whole thing. Sorry for the ugly words, but things are running pretty high-speed here. We'll see if he even survives this.
