According to a Swedish "climate expert" the "global warming" may be the cause for the cold weather.

-We are getting longer periods of high and low pressure, he tells TT.
The fact that it is unusually cold in northern Europe and the eastern United States may be due to global warming being faster in the Arctic than around the equator. This affects global air currents such as the jet wind.
