Best for use: wooden cutting boards. But since wood is porous and bacteria can breed in it, let it soak in vinegar for a while from time to time and then wash well. You can also leave them out to dry out completely when it's hot and sunny out. Bacteria can only breed in humid/wet conditions and the sun is an excellent anti-bacterial.
Or use glass boards. Be careful when handling due to their fragility and possibility to cut yourself.
